How do I get rid of this computer problem?

Hi, I have a Windows Vista computer and my computer screen just turned black when I turned it on and it made a beeping sound. I cant see anything on my computer and it doesnt show anything. It wont even let me log on. I dont remember downloading anything from the internet in a long time. Can anyone help me in telling me how to resolve this problem please? Thanks….
